After the first phase of construction for the boys' hostel, Karin Demuth went on to raise further funds for an additional boys' dormitory by enlisting the support of Sternstunden. In 2002, when Gujarat was struck by the devastating earthquake, Sternstunden acted very promptly by releasing emergency funds in aid of the earthquake victims. From the balance of funds left over, Gujarat Bhavan was built, a rehabilitation wing at SKSN for children who were disabled almost over-night.
Sternstunden have recently provided the second Girls Hostel to accommodate another 100 physically challenged girls, 46 of who have already got admission to the school, and 54 new girl students will be inducted into SKSN 2005, bringing the total number of girls up to 200.
Sternstunden often send TV crews to SKSN to film the projects they are supporting.
These follow-ups update the Sternstunden viewers and donors about the progress
of the projects and show them how their funds are being used.
